THE ART OF PARISIAN HOSPITALITY
Paris isn't a city known for overly attentive service or endless smiles. It's easy to mistake Parisian service for indifference. But after six years living in the city, Nicole Bello came to see it differently. Rather than constant check-ins or forced friendliness, the best places trust the experience to unfold at its own pace. The room, the food and the company are given space to do the work.
Working as a creative marketing consultant for restaurants and hospitality businesses, she developed an appreciation for places where every element feels intentional. These are the ones she still returns to. Each location is underlined and linked. Click any underlined spot to view photos, opening hours, reviews and navigate there easily.
Aux Deux Amis - For me this has been part of my Paris experience from like day one. Back in 2012, when I was new in the city and living the life of a student with no worries about the future, I found myself walking down my street (I lived higher up on the same street back then) and into this exact bar that my friend had recommend. Apparently the cool Parisian girl she was living with raved about it, saying it was the new hot spot in town. Right now, Yuto Fujimoto is the head chef there and is creating one stunning menu after the other.
Le Recoin - Such a gem of a spot. It’s very straightforward, good wine, good food, nothing is too fussy but everything is delicious. And very affordable. Definitely do lunch here.
L’escale - If there’s a place to be on a Friday evening, this is probably it. Back when I was studying I would cross the bridge and grab a coffee here just because of of its ideal geographical location ( I could skip the annoying swap with the metro, get off early and walk across Pont de la Tournelle). Back then it was only the locals and old people going there, it had its charm and it still does. The menu is stunning, seasonal and fresh, service is very French and in the evening their outside seating on the bridge fills up with Parisians enjoying the view of the sun setting behind Notre Dame.
Hôtel Massé - Fairly new 4 star hotel in SoPi (South Pigalle). It’s beautifully decorated, with rooftop views of Paris and has quickly become a popular stay for the chic.
Hotel Rochechouart, 9th - Located in Pigalle as well, it’s an 20’s Art Deco building which was fully restored with a very cinematic feel.
Hotel Château Voltaire - Personally, I find the location a bit more ideal. Located in the 2nd, right next to Japanse quarter, Jardin du Palais Royal and not far from the Louvre.
